Welcome to NicksRailwaySupply.com

Nick's Railway Supply opened in 1981 as a "supplement" to our existing Outdoor Power Equipment business. If you wish, you can visit our Outdoor Power site (Nick's Sales & Service) at: NicksLawnMowers.com

After moving to our current location that spring, we knew we a needed stable winter-time income to ensure revenue during the cold months here in northeastern Ohio. Even though our equipment business can be running full-bore in the dead of winter, our often fickle snowfall here suggested that we shouldn't rely on snow thrower business to keep us eating regularly! It was during this brain storming session that my Mom, Liz, asked the now famous question, "What if we started stocking train equipment? How much could that cost?" Being a professional accountant, this was a natural (and expected) question from her. Liz had applied her knowledge that two of us in the shop were hopelessly devoted model railroaders, with her basic accountant's need to know the bottom line! Any of you who are, or know, an accountant, or if you are in business, you are nodding your head with understanding at this moment.

Now, twenty-five years later, we laugh at that question! The answer of course is that it costs thousands (and thousands) of dollars in inventory to maintain a shop where modelers can find the products they need. Oh sure, to be certain, we don't have everything. In fact, and let's be honest here, we are always out of that one item you truly needed! Even so, we are constantly praised for our product selection and wide ranging inventory!

Committed to the hobby and to YOU the modeler!

Nick's Railway Supply is a full-time "bricks and mortar" hobby shop dedicated to the intermediate-to-advanced, prototype, scale modeler. Our in-store stock is mainly HO scale. However, we supply product for many regular customers who model in other scales.

Besides model railroaders, we cater to students, amateur and professional model builders, and those seeking general building supplies such as small drill bits, plastics, paint, adhesives and metal products.

Commitment to our customers and to the hobby is reflected in things such as our in-store how-to Clinic Series, our product selection and product knowledge.
