     Electricity is one of those subjects that stricks fear in many modelers.  This basic course is designed for the model railroader.  We will demonstrate and discuss basic electrical circuits commonly used in the hobby.  Handout materials will be yours to keep and can be used as a reference for upcoming projects.

    Sound practices for safety, designing, wiring and maintaining the electrcial network of the model railroad will give you the freedom and confidence to have fun in this great hobby!  You've read the books, you've thought about the task, now let's try some hands-on work with some basic circuits.  You too will find that it isn't that tough to create a working, reliable railroad with just a bit of electrical knowledge.

    Topics to be addressed:  Basic layout wiring for DC and DCC.  Trouble-free electrical connections.  Basic common circuits.  Resistance and what it means to us.  Layout lighting, Common Rail, Common Return, The DCC Bus and more

Attendees may wish to bring the following to class.  These items may enhance your class time:

VOA (Volt Ohm Amp) meter, Volt Ohm Milliamp meter (VOM) or DVOM (Digital equivalent)
