The original and main concept of DCC was to simplify the operation of multiple trains on a railroad. An instant added benefit was simplified wiring for the railroad layout. But this was only the tip of the iceberg. Consider all the opportunities that are now available to us. Lighting effects, remote control, speed matching, sound. The list goes on.
